About Sheila Russian
Sheila Russian has extensive experience in the mediation of both family and civil issues. Since 1993. Sheila has been mediating divorce, separation, custody, visitation, and property division for clients who are are straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender. She has expertise in mediating senior care and elder issues, estates and trusts, guardianship, care management for the chronically ill or disabled, family event conflicts, and civil issues.
Sheila Russian graduated from Barnard College, Hebrew Union College, and the University of Maryland School of Law. Sheila is an attorney and was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1993.
She received mediation training at the Mulitdoor Dispute Resolution Division of the D.C. Superior Court which has a nationally recognized family mediation program. She received training in Elder Care and Guardianship Mediation from the Center for Social Gerontology in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Sheila Russian is a Court Appointed Domestic Mediator and Settlement Officer for Domestic and Civil Issues for the Carroll County Circuit Court. Sheila is also a Court Appointed Mediator for Estates and Trusts Issues for the Orphans’ Court in Baltimore City and Baltimore County. In addition, she is a Certified Civil Mediator in the Circuit Courts of Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Anne Arundel, and Carroll Counties, as well as in the District Court of Baltimore County. She has received training in the collaborative law process and is an experienced pastoral counselor. She is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Maryland Program for Mediator Excellence, and the Academy of Professional Family Mediators.
